Santa Shop for Sycamore School
The Santa Shop Purpose
The PTA of Sycamore School puts on the Santa Shop and it does give kids the opportunity to shop for family members. They will make a list of who they are and have an opportunity to pick out gifts, even if they don’t have money.
Here is a list you can help out with during the year. The first part of December we will collect all that is gathered.
• Plastic bags (with handles) simple bags from stores that give them out with your purchase, even ones from Lowes, Home Depot, Macy’s, Kohl’s, etc. Places where you might not normally take a bag. (If you can get it for free, pick it up.) Little kids have little hands and can not manage to carry even three gifts.
• Gift bags, any size
Now for stuff you could purchase or even have around.
• Gift bags are being used to speed up the wrapping.
• Christmas items that are suitable to sell for $1, 2, and $3. They have added this cap in 2022.
• Gifts for Mom, Dad, & siblings of various ages. Big sellers were tape measures, ties, gloves for Dad. Mom just about anything. Gloves, hats, pencils, small toys, etc. (Dollar Store items or Big Lots provide lots of low priced items.)
Note: We have decided not to continue with supporting the Santa Shop. Instead we will be focusing on helping more of the kids in need. But will also buy items for the school counselor’s point program. Children will earn points for behavior, homework, reading books, etc. With these points earned they select items of various cash in values. A great learning experience for all children. They will learn to save up to get something of higher value if they desire.
