Pet Mats Donated to Animal Shelter

Written by Mary Stephenson

On 8-26-2025 we took 26 pet mats to Another Chance Animal Welfare League in Palo Cedro and donated them on behalf of the Redding Breakfast Lions Club.

Another Chance Animal Welfare League (ACAWL) is an organization in the business of rescuing animals, mainly cats and dogs and finding them their forever homes. It is a no kill organization which means any animal which comes into the program stays in the program until adopted or dies. This is their website URL https://acawl.org/

Installation Breakfast 2025

June 28, 2025 brought a new milestone to Redding Breakfast Lions Club with the installation of 2025/2026 new board members. It seems like it was just a few months ago we were doing this for 2024.

The weather was much hotter than the 2024 event, so didn’t mind that it was started at 8 AM.

Breakfast was served at 8:30. On the menu was eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast with strawberries and whipped cream (or syrup), pastries, coffee, milk and orange juice all catered by Dan and Donna Araiza from Wings of Angels.

Lions Making Kids First

When you get to witness your dedication and efforts in making a difference in the community by dollars or time to benefit children, it all seems worthwhile.

Making a difference in one child can benefit generations and impact a community. As we can all see by the ESYAC program. They have provided their newsletter, with such inspiring accomplishments.

Awards and key chains will also be going to Sycamore School for the following 5th grade students.

Best improvement in math for the year. Good citizenship for the year. This is where grades don’t matter.

Math awards: Emily Beaton, Bode Tucker, and Jessenia Ramirez-Jaco
Citizenship awards: Eli Santos, Zada Lane, Francis Orozco-Martinez

Riverfront Playhouse Potluck and Theater 2025 Event

5-18-2025

Another fun event we enjoyed on May 15th.

Nice to see everyone and indulge in culinary delights. Never got to try even half the dishes brought, but all that I tried was great.

They keep upgrading the lounge area, making seating more convenient.

The play was called Tohidu and the story was interesting to follow. And the horse did kind of resemble one hiding behind the stall. The bull we never saw sounded pretty mean. Crazy Larry triumphed. Nice moral to the theme. Continue reading
