Vision Screening at St. Joseph’s Catholic School

Things happen, even when you are not around.

Been out of touch with many events with our club over the past few months.

Sure, we connected via emails and calls. Which by the way, we appreciated everyone that contacted us. Thank you.

Grateful for everyone that participated in the Priceless Vision Clinic. By what I have heard it was a huge success.

Heard that our club got an award certificate. If we got a photo or scan of it, I can put it on the website.

Wonderful project for Preston Sharp, with all the labor and hours put into making it happen. There are pictures up here.

New school for vision screening, St. Joseph’s Catholic School. It was great. They had each grade lined up and by their names. It went so fast, wish all of them were like that. No waiting between classes.

Stopped by Ole’s office on Friday and tried to help him work out a few problems with his page for the Turtle Bay Run. Some programs although look simple, like drag and drop are not always easy. But Ole was able to get a very nice page up. Here is the link.

Helped out at Sycamore School on April 13th with their Color-A-Thon put on by the PTA. Interesting and the kids were super-charged up. They got to run around the track avoiding or maybe reveling in having colors tossed at them. The colors are made with cornstarch and food dye.

Lion’ All-Star Basketball Games held on April 15th at the Simpson University.

Coming up on April 27th to 29th is the Annual District Convention. There are cocktail parties, Food Fair, and all the other fun things to do at a convention. And NO it is not boring. I thought it might be, but was persuaded to attend 2 years ago, went last year and excited about going this year. If you have signed up great! If not you can still attend, a great bargain for only $20. Even if all you did was attend the Food Fair which is only $5 that is an awesome deal. They need golfers for a tournament they are having, if you like to golf, here is an opportunity to meet with other Lions. Read the April Mane Lion for all the great events being planned for the weekend. You can click on this link and check it out.

Apparently we are committing to the Sycamore Fair again this year. It will be May 12th. Will need lots of help for this. Will be serving hot dogs and drinks. Last year some went and helped out with other booths,as they were short on volunteers. So the more the merrier as they say.

A big congratulations to Sycamore School for receiving the “Capturing Kid’s Hearts National Showcase”. It is an honor for our club to have adopted this school and to see what a wonderful job they are doing. To read about this award click here.
