Volunteer Tea 2018

On Friday May 18, 2018 at 8:30 AM, we had another fun day at Sycamore School. This time we had nothing to do, except enjoy!
No tea!
We did have apple juice and there was bottled water.
A combo bowl of fresh fruit, a couple of kinds of quiche, roll-up sandwiches, pastries, cookies. I think that was all.
They also had a thank-you card with a “Milky Way” candy bar attached. I decided to leave the candy bar, didn’t need the extra sweets.
We were entertained by songs and poems. Many heartfelt thank-you’s from the kids.
It makes you ponder and wonder what these young children will be when they are all grown-up.
They will be the business people of tomorrow. Will they be our waiters, mechanics, doctors, nurses? We are counting on them to never lose sight of what so many dedicated people have taught them through the years at Sycamore. Which is a reminder of why we volunteer.
This was a very rewarding program. The kids worked very hard to say “Thank You” to all of us volunteers. There will be more opportunities for any Lions wanting to become involve in Sycamore School.
Yes, it was a very special day for us volunteers. The kids definitely worked hard at the programs they each put on for everyone. I think it also shows them and teaches them the results of volunteering. Hopefully they will also give back when they become adults. As soon as Susanna gives me dates and times I will put out an email to everyone.
