John Rowell
I was born in Longview, Washington and grew up in St. Helens, Oregon. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree and Masters of Science degree in Geography and Economics.

I have been married to my wonderful wife Carla for 30 years, and we have four children and three grandchildren.

Sports have been an important part of my life. I swam, played football, ran track, and played basketball in high school. I played for the basketball team at the University of Oregon. I have played basketball competitively until the age of 62. I have also played and still play Handball.

I was a school teacher at first, and then became an agent, manager and owner of an insurance business for over 30 years. In the last 12 years, I have consulted for the Small Business Development Corporation and help start over 50 small businesses in the Modesto, Ca area before moving to Redding, Ca where I now live.

Community service has been very important to me. I was the President of the Oakdale, Ca Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor of Salida, Ca Area of Governor for Toastmasters International. I have also been a past president of the Oakdale, Ca Lions Club.

I enjoy being part of the Redding Breakfast Lions Club, and I have been a member of this esteem group since 2019.
