Where Do We Begin?

Looking out the window across the grassy field stands an old oak tree with broken branches and a blackened trunk like a tattered old coat, it holds within the history of all those years it has stood.

Arriving here in June of 2015 other than knowing the name of the “Lions” organization I knew nothing of who they are or what they did.  The Lions being around longer than I have been alive is a tribute to their honorable contributions to the world.  The Lions are not like the old oak tree that will eventually fade away.

It has been an amazing experience to be part of the Redding Breakfast Lions Club.  I am humbled by the wonderful people that make up this group and am forever grateful for the welcoming we have received.

Giving back to a community where you belong has rewards for the giver and the receiver, knowing in some small way you can make a better place for others.  Perhaps they also pay it forward.

When mentioning the Lions around here folks told stories of help they received at sometime in their lives. 

The more involved with charitable acts the more needs we see evolving.  Although impossible to fix all the problems of our community, the Lions have impacted many lives and will continue to do so over the years.  

Each charitable organization has a corner of service and together they have helped communities thrive for the betterment of all.  Humans seem to be the smartest of creatures but without the huge support of others, we do not function well.  Maybe by that very nature we are more prone to be more giving it is in our DNA.
