We Serve

A Need to Survive

written by:  Mary Stephenson

In order for any club or organization to survive it needs to grow the membership.

An analogy would be that if there were no more human babies born as of tomorrow, within 100 years the human race would be pretty much extinct, no matter how good science became.  Our lives are fundamentally connected to farmers.  I can’t imagine 100 year old farmers caring whether the last few people would get fed.  They would only grow enough to take care of those close to them if they could farm at all.

All clubs need new members to come along and carry on the mission that others have started.  Fresh ideas and new enthusiasm will keep the momentum up for the good of all.  New energy gives a break for those having served so well in the past.

No better tribute to an organization than having people eager to join and being a part of what wonderful hardworking members had created.

Some people like to join and be a part of something no matter what it is.  Others are reluctant to join an organization unless they see a good reason.

People join clubs for various reasons.   Some may start out with one purpose for joining and find they have fulfilled other pleasant benefits from making that step.

Coming together for the ultimate goal of helping others and finding you have also helped yourself is obviously a plus.

Joining the Lions can be a benefit to one’s business, social life and community in where you live.  There is rarely ever a right or wrong answer for why someone should join any organization, what’s important is doing so.

We are building here an introduction to all the members, each one will have their own page on this website.  It is your opportunity to tell visitors to the site about whatever you would like them to know.  Others will get to know something about you, whether it is about your business, hobbies or maybe why you joined the Lions.  Perspective members will get to meet us before they join and might find they have common interests.  With this knowledge, they will feel as if they already met the members and be eager to become part of the Redding Breakfast Lions Club.
