Bunco 2018 Party

Another super time playing Bunco this year.

 

Does it get better when you don’t have to be locked away in the room at the lone table? Last year I had spent 7 rounds there as the party went on without me. Finally rescued by the expert dice thrower, Julie (Jim Walker’s wife). They were not here this time and dreading the time I actually would have to go into solitude. But alas, I didn’t have to spend long in there.

The Lions Carr Fire Relief Center

Lions Carr Fire Relief CenterWalked her out and help load up their vehicle. She was numb from the stress and the devastation. You could sense it, she did not have to say how she was feeling. Her many thank you’s appreciated. All I did was help fill her order and help them load. My insignificant part seemed so small.

 

But somehow I knew she needed more.

Installation Party of 2018Our annual installation party was lots of fun. Thank you Dan Novak for bringing your daughter’s dance class to put on a great performance. (How nice to have such energy!) We enjoyed the food and entertainment.

 

Another year has disappeared in Lion terms! Going from July to June is the end of one reign and the beginning of a new appointed president and board.

Music in the AM and PM

On May 23rd we attended Sycamore School’s annual “Music in the Air”, patriotic assembly in memory of those who have served and continue to serve our country. All the classes were involved with singing and playing instruments.

 

Some veterans were brought in, which was a wonderful thing to do for them. Recognition Certificates were given to the Veterans, along with thank you letters, patriotic lanyards, roses. I am sure they all felt appreciated and proud of having served their country. I believe the children understood why they have the freedom today that we all enjoy. Continue reading
