Gold Bullion
Written by Mary Stephenson 5-2-2018
The gold bullion was everywhere. You just had to hunt for it. Under bushes, behind trees, in the grass and sometimes in plain sight. Once I figured out I was looking too hard, they miraculously showed up in my vision.
They had put out 500 Thursday evening and in the morning they had vanished. So much for well hidden treasure! It rained Saturday and not sure if they put much out, but was not going to go out in the rain hunting for them. Janet gave me her 14 coins and with the 24 I had, still was not the luckiest treasure hunter. Bill from Loma Rica got 74 and won the prize, which I can’t remember what it was as many prizes were being handed out for many of the events for the weekend.

4/15 SIMPSON UNI. GYM
By Jim Reimer
For the second year in a row, the South Boys’ team provided a nail biter for another sold out crowd of 650 fans attending the 23rd Annual Redding Breakfast Lion’s Club All Star Basketball Game held Sunday at Simpson University.
With the score tied at 85 with 50 seconds left, the North team failed to take the lead on two missed free throws. Thirty seconds later, Brandon Hoag from Corning drove the lane and scored the winning basket to clench the 87-85 win for Corning Union coach Kurt Wilkins South team. Last year’s South team also managed to squeak out a one point 106-105 win in the final seconds.

Things happen, even when you are not around.
Been out of touch with many events with our club over the past few months.
Sure, we connected via emails and calls. Which by the way, we appreciated everyone that contacted us. Thank you.
Grateful for everyone that participated in the Priceless Vision Clinic. By what I have heard it was a huge success.
Valentine’s Day School Dance 2018

Decorating Committee
Yippee! My first school dance.
Yep, I lived a pretty sheltered life.
I remember in high school talking with my girl friend about going to a dance with her. Should have just spent the night at her house on the day of the dance and borrowed one of her dresses. Couldn’t figure on how to get out of the house with my own party dress. Ah, opportunities lost.
As long as I was out with my brother, I was allowed to go square dancing… but of course not quite the same, although there were quite a few teenagers that attended.

Saturday evening the weather was wonderful for a night out. No rain, no wind, a pleasant January day.
Huge crowd of people this year and with everyone I talked to they had a marvelous time. I am sure it will be on their go to list for next year’s fun.
A big heartfelt thanks to Charlie Duncan and Ron Mino for the planning of this annual event. Thanks to all that helped them through out the evening.
