We Serve

May Meetings and More

Again inspired by the great speakers this club has enjoyed. Thanks to all the members who have been diligent with this endeavor.

On May 26th Danielle Arendt came to tell us about United Way serving the North State. So many services I had no idea was available for even the middle class. Where if one is not rich enough to afford some extended help, but not poor enough to automatically receive help. Usually the ones that are left out until they have exhausted all their funds to finally get much needed services.

She also told us about NorCal 211 number to find out what services are available. United Way for local assistance is 530-241-7521. I passed the information on to someone that might have a family member in need of some help. Also looked up United Way for a friend in Oklahoma that is struggling with being a caretaker. Just a break once in a while is treasured time when you are getting exhausted from the demands of attending to someone that is ill. Great information that I will hang on to.

June 2nd was Yolondo Lupoe from Capturing the Essence Salt Cave. My thoughts when I first heard that someone from the Salt Caves was going to be speaking was, What? Not a lover of caves and I would just as soon wait outside until you return. Well of course I was wrong. Cave is more like a tent inside a building off of Hilltop. Good… don’t have to go into some dark scary cave. She told us about Halotherapy and Salt Benefits.

A safe holistic environment to nurture, mind, body and spirit. I’ve read about the benefits of salt for healing. Read in the past about people going to the Dead Sea for healing, so I found it interesting. When I was 6 until about 14 I swam a lot in the Pacific Ocean during the summer months. Never remember getting sick during those months… but then again wasn’t around many kids either. Found the subject fascinating. Here is the link to her website. https://capturingtheessence.com/

Will be dropping off our Good Citizenship Awards and key chains at Sycamore School next week. 4th and 5th grade students. Estella Campos and Brady Daly. Congratulations kids. 2 more added to the list are Johanna Luna and Nayelli Dominguez.

Got this announcement from ESYAC a few days ago. Read here. Since many of our members help out with the program you may know her. Success stories are what make everyone’s efforts worth it. Congratulations Phanh Mathsynouruth.
