Rowdy’s rowdy bunch!

Written by:  Mary Stephenson

Wow…

Two weeks in a row at our breakfast meeting it was a quiet rumor going around that we should probably tone it down!

I was doubtful how that could actually happen.  I suppose toning it down from a loud roar and no bad jokes is about the best we could do.  But the delight from all this was the statement made from our visitors about “I wish I could bottle what you have up“.  I am sure a number of clubs could be infused with our contagious laughter and be thrilled to be at their meetings every week.

Having a reputation for being “the rowdy bunch” is not a bad thing, as long as we are all having fun.  Laughter is good for your health…so maybe that makes our Lion members healthier.  Hey, another good reason to become a member of Redding Breakfast Lions Club!

July 7th meeting we had children from Sycamore School along with adults.  (Had to tone it down.)

July 14th we had important Lion members visit us.  (Another reason to tone it down.  Okay, maybe just a tad.)

Lion Denny Grotrian running for the office of International Director talked with us and mentioned about membership decline.  His wife Lion Susan also visited with us.  Had a wonderful discussion with her after the meeting.

Lion Maggie Robeson (LCIF) talked about the Melvin Jones Fellowship and the MD-4 Convention taking place in Redding February 10 – 12, 2017.  Lion Steve Robeson (Global Leadership Team – Term 2014 – 2017) was also at our meeting.  They remembered us from the convention and we talked with them for awhile also.
