Vision Screening at Juniper
Written by Mary Stephenson
Vision screening at Juniper on September 7th. We all looked pretty cool with our new Lion shirts. I for one, was much more comfortable and enjoyed the fit. I also believe it was less intimidating for the kids than the yellow vests. We just may blend in a little better with the blue shirts. More normal to what the kids would actually see in their world.
One of the classes we had were all 3 years old. That brought a lot of smiles. Some were brave and jumped on to the chair grinning from ear to ear. They were informed there was going to be a picture taken of their eyes. Hey, picture means you need to smile! Others were not so anxious about the whole process.
Funny thing about little kids, it seems when they are 5 or under they relate to questions about age as in how many fingers to hold up. Since they were all 3 we didn’t get to see how each reacted to the question. Would be kind of a fun study though to test the results.
There was one boy that had an older brother and he showed us old he was by holding up two fingers on one hand and two fingers on the other. It seemed much more difficult to do the 2 finger maneuver, but figured that was the only way he could relate to his brother being 4.
There have been a few Vision Schedule changes and if you are participating in the program you can check on the schedule by clicking here. Good idea to check on the schedule from time to time as I will be entering any information of updates when informed.
Just for fun!

Preschool boy asks me to tie his shoes. I ask, “What’s the magic word?” And he excitedly says, “Abracadabra!” He was right, you know.
