We Serve

Open House at Sycamore

Written by Mary Stephenson  (3-22-2017)

Jim, Judy, Gary and I all went to Sycamore School to help prepare and handout a hot dog dinner yesterday.

It was for an Open House event for parents, students and teachers.

Always a pleasure serving the youngsters of Sycamore, they are very well behaved.

We were pleasantly surprised by many of the students accomplishments with musical instruments. When Susanna had told us that there would be music we were not expecting that the kids would be the entertainment. Violins, drums and keyboard.

The music teacher did mention that getting up in front of people and performing was a great accomplishment. Skills that they would need in anything they may ever want to pursue in life. Never heard it put like that before but it is definitely something to remember when one is encouraging children to broaden their horizons. All of the things in life we try can be a path on our journey of living.

The rain held off until we were in the parking lot getting ready to leave. Followed the rainbow home, but it wasn’t at my backdoor when I entered the driveway! Maybe another time…
