Summer with the Lions

Written by:  Mary Stephenson

If anyone has been watching this site today (6/30/2016) you will have found a progress in the WRONG direction.  As with the internet things are not always black and white.  Not sure what happened or when it happened, it could have been after we tried installing a “photo gallery” plugin this morning.  But here I was back to one post and all the work that had been done for the past 2 months gone!

In “horrors” to say the least we got a hold of the hosting company and they were able to restore to the 18th of June.  So the “Summer with the Lions” post I just finished has vanished into oblivion.  Now I will try to take the time to recreate from my Facebook post and a few notes.  Fun for sure!  I will put Ron’s bio back on his page as that was done yesterday.  Hoping that we now have the bases covered on future disasters so we don’t go into a cold sweat trying to recoup!

The post:

There was the Annual Installation Party for the new officers.  Accounts of the event sounded like everyone had a wonderful time.  Apparently the food was excellent.  There was entertainment provided by some of the Lions.  Unfortunately I was unable to attend and missed out on a great event.

On Tuesday July 5th we will be back painting and helping out Olivia at Sycamore School.  The blue walls are all done unless we have some touch up to do.  The door is now painted a bright yellow.  It is becoming a very inviting fun room to be in and definitely not like any of the other classrooms.  To understand the purpose of the room go to the previous post “Understanding the Need“.  We will continue to help Olivia with this room as she needs us.

On July 11th there is a need for at least 5 volunteers for each of the 3 shifts for cooking at the Youth Leadership Camp.

Either July 19 – 21 or August 1 – 5 we have been asked to help painting with stencils for the playground at Sycamore School.

July 30th is the Annual back to school shopping event at Kohl’s.  I will make a page under the “Event” tab with the print out.

If there is anything else going on I am unaware of it.
