Volunteer Tea 2018
Written by Mary Stephenson 5-18-2018
On Friday May 18, 2018 at 8:30 AM, we had another fun day at Sycamore School. This time we had nothing to do, except enjoy!
No tea!
We did have apple juice and there was bottled water.
A combo bowl of fresh fruit, a couple of kinds of quiche, roll-up sandwiches, pastries, cookies. I think that was all.

Once again we set up shop with our snack bar, complete with the snazzy new banner. A few more items on the menu this year. The variety was a great marketing plan… thanks Ron and Janet.
Hot dogs, popcorn, ice-cream, candy bars, and drinks. Actually Janet had me going when she ran off an extensive list of all the things we were selling. I was getting impressed but we had a good laugh. Continue reading
Gold Bullion

The gold bullion was everywhere. You just had to hunt for it. Under bushes, behind trees, in the grass and sometimes in plain sight. Once I figured out I was looking too hard, they miraculously showed up in my vision.
They had put out 500 Thursday evening and in the morning they had vanished. So much for well hidden treasure! It rained Saturday and not sure if they put much out, but was not going to go out in the rain hunting for them. Janet gave me her 14 coins and with the 24 I had, still was not the luckiest treasure hunter. Bill from Loma Rica got 74 and won the prize, which I can’t remember what it was as many prizes were being handed out for many of the events for the weekend.

4/15 SIMPSON UNI. GYM
By Jim Reimer
For the second year in a row, the South Boys’ team provided a nail biter for another sold out crowd of 650 fans attending the 23rd Annual Redding Breakfast Lion’s Club All Star Basketball Game held Sunday at Simpson University.
With the score tied at 85 with 50 seconds left, the North team failed to take the lead on two missed free throws. Thirty seconds later, Brandon Hoag from Corning drove the lane and scored the winning basket to clench the 87-85 win for Corning Union coach Kurt Wilkins South team. Last year’s South team also managed to squeak out a one point 106-105 win in the final seconds.

Things happen, even when you are not around.
Been out of touch with many events with our club over the past few months.
Sure, we connected via emails and calls. Which by the way, we appreciated everyone that contacted us. Thank you.
Grateful for everyone that participated in the Priceless Vision Clinic. By what I have heard it was a huge success.
