Was held at Country Waffles on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 7AM
We all had a great time with lots of laughs. Plenty of “awards”. You had to have been there to appreciate the great effort put on by both Lion John and Lion Melanie. Lots of great quotes to keep us laughing.
Lion Charlie did a great job being our 2022 – 2023 president.
Sycamore School Awards 2023

Wearing our blue shirts we arrived at Sycamore ready for the first time in a while to actually attend the end of year promotional awards.
Gary and I showed up June 7th to give out some of the awards. I think it was a bit muddled as some 5th graders received awards on the 7th and 8th. Yet all 5th graders showed up on the 8th. I think next year if they are going to have all 5th graders coming to the “5th Grade Promotion” they might as well wait until then. I think they did this for our benefit, by not having us come both days. But in reality, since we were already over that way on Thursday it seemed only rightful that we let the kids have their proud moments in front of family. Continue reading
Weaverville Road Trip 5-30-2023

Yay, a “road trip”…
Lions John, Gary, and myself all met at Lion Norm’s place at 4 PM to head out to join the Weaverville Lions for their evening meeting. Was fun for us, as we were chauffeured by Norm to the event.
Riverfront Playhouse – Rabbit Hole
It has been a while since our club has enjoyed a Riverfront Playhouse Buyout.
Last night was a huge success.(4-28-2023)
Lots, and I mean lots of amazing dishes brought by everyone. Didn’t get to try everything. It would’ve taken 2 days to try it all.
At first I wasn’t too thrilled about the high tables and no stools in the reception room. But in the end it was actually a well thought out plan to help people move around and talk to others, instead of staying in one place. Kudos to Riverfront for this brilliant concept.

Want to congratulate Lion Charlie Follis for his passion to see this event happen in 2023. The club’s 25th year of doing the event.
Lots of help to pull it off.
A huge thanks to Lion Scott for the help he provided at the entrance table. He would hand us money and say he needed so much back. Linda and Dawn pitched in and helped with the event.
Glad we didn’t do the snack bar. Somethings are just better left for others to do.
Big thanks for the raffle prizes that were donated.
