We Serve

Mary Stephenson

Born and raised in British Columbia.

At the age of 6 with, my youngest brother and parents we all moved to Saltspring Island. Across a dirt road was the beach. Country life but with all the joys of being able to play in the sand, fish, swim and watch killer whales traveling between the islands.  It was so quiet you could hear them crashing on the water a mile away.

Had the opportunity to move to the US when I was 18, took the plunge and have only returned to Canada for visits.

Lived in cities up until June 2015 when the chance to move to the country arose.  Couldn’t miss out on the longing that had been brewing all those years, place with a view and acres to go with it.  So, Shasta County here I am and getting this girl back in the country has brought peace and happiness!

Joined the Redding Breakfast Lions Club in the fall of 2015 and I am so proud to be part of this group.

Always liked to do crafts and although I have so many projects waiting to get done they will be sitting on hold for awhile.  Use to do oil paintings until I became allergic to the oils.  After that I switched to creating my own Christmas cards (comical cat ones).

After discovering “Word” the writing bug has caught me by storm.  Created a number of websites before moving to Shasta County and shut them down in the spring of 2014.  Now I have a copywriting website and in the process of building a travel one.

Married, have one daughter and one granddaughter.  Also have a Siamese cat named Molly.

Love cats and dark chocolate! (And if I had to give up one of my obsessions, it would be chocolate. I am hopelessly, madly in love with Siamese.)

Published May, 2016

As of May 2, 2020 I no longer have Molly. Hope to get more Siamese in the future. Miss not having cats. Had them in my life for the past 50 years.

On December 5, 2020 the unhappiness of being ‘cat-less’ for 7 months ended with the arrival of a chocolate point Siamese female (9 months old). Her name is Lily and will soon be getting a blue point Siamese female and she will be called Lucy. The joy and laughter has returned to the household.

Latest update 1-24-2022: A year in with both cats that have turned our lives upside down. Never a dull moment. Should have known that trouble brewed… these 2 don’t do dry kibble. Put 20 pieces in a bowl and hours later there are still 20 pieces. More cat toys destroyed in one year than all the 50 years with other cats. Lamp broken, still usable minus the glass panels and lamp shade. Always wonder what is next, but they keep us laughing. Being really cute helps.
