Stuff you might not know:

An elephant’s trunk can grow to 6 feet long. The trunk is central to the elephant’s survival, helping the beasts breathe, smell, eat, and drink, and it’s controlled by a network of 40,000 muscles. By comparison, the human body has only around 650 muscles total. The animal’s sense of smell is second to none — it’s been reported that elephants can smell water up to 12 miles away.
